AboutBETTER WHEN HE’S BRAVE:
In New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Jay Crownover’s third novel in her sexy, thrilling Welcome to the Point series, a woman’s search for repentance leads her to the one man from her past she can’t forget as they join forces to save their city—and the explosive love neither can live without. Titus King sees the world in black and white. Right and wrong. Which is why as a teenager he left behind the only family he’d ever known to make a better life for himself. Now a police detective in one of the worst cities in the country, he can’t deny his life has turned into a million different shades of gray. The new criminal element in The Point has brought vengeance and destruction right to Titus’s front door, and the difference between right and wrong is nothing compared to keeping those he loves alive. To add to his already strained moral compass, the beautiful and mysterious Reeve Black has made her way back to town, and she might be as dangerous to Titus as the guy trying to destroy the Point because he needs her—in more ways than one. Reeve knows all about how ruthless this new threat to destroy The Point can be… and instead of running away, she wants to help. She has a lot to repent for and saving the city, plus the hot cop that she hasn’t been able to forget might just be the only way she can finally find some inner peace. With an entire city poised on the brink of war, Titus and Reeve stand in the crossfire—and it will take two brave souls to fight for the ultimate love.
My Review
Wow. What a ride Jay Crownover took us on this
time in the Point. You never know what kind of story you are going to get when
it comes to The Point. But you know it will be a little bloody, brutal, and
have some manipulation thrown in for fun. Titus' story was no different. I have
been wanting to see his story since we first met him and Bax. I wanted to know
what made him tick and how he felt about having a brother on the opposite side
of the law than him. I wanted to know if he had a side to him too. Luckily, his
story answers all those questions.. Oh and if you were wondering how he is in
bed... hot, hot as hell.
I lived my life between very clear
black and white lines but lately all the edges had blurred into so many shades
of gray it was hard to see through the fog anymore.
Titus is a dectective in The Point. A place where
bad people are made and the good people drown in the filth. His one goal is to
make a difference in this place. Even if it's just keeping one more kid from
being a dope dealer. After Novak was out of the picture things seemed like they
could only get better, but someone else has been waiting in the shadows to
bring The Point and the people in it down.
Just because you do bad things doesn't
automatically make you a bad person.
Reeve left The Point after being put in witness
protection after confessing to hiring Novak and agreeing to bring his old
operation down. But leaving The Point didn't feel right. This place was bad but
was in her blood and a part of her. Surviving in The Point was something she
knew how to do. So when things start looking a little off and she knows who is
behind the new chaos in the Point she goes to Titus. A man she has had a thing
for but knows she is no good for him.
I really enjoyed
reading this book and I was pulled in from the beginning. There are so many
layers in this story and really in this series that I just
want to keep peeling them back. I loved Reeve and Titus. I loved that Titus stuck to his goodness. I
believe it would have been wrong from him not to stay true to he is. I loved
seeing everyone else in this book and I cannot wait to read more. Though I
really do need Booker to have a book and soon!
4.5 stars!

About Jay Crownover:
Jay Crownover is the New York Times and USA Today bestselling author of the Marked Men and The Point series. Like her characters, she is a big fan of tattoos. She loves music and wishes she could be a rock star, but since she has no aptitude for singing or instrument playing, she'll settle for writing stories with interesting characters that make the reader feel something. She lives in Colorado with her three dogs.
