Delilah Morgan and her older sister Destiny have been on their own for two years, since their parents burned down the family home and went to jail for cooking meth. She’s street smart and tough. Nothing about her says sixteen, and she’s not about to tell anyone, especially Bran, the hot ex-marine bartender Destiny has her eye on. He’s stable and successful and everything her sister needs to keep them off the street. The only problem, something about Bran inspires her and suddenly she’s writing the best music she ever has. About him.
Branson Silo knows what it means to be in the line of fire. Home for a year from his second tour of duty in Afghanistan, he thinks he’s safe…until he meets Delilah. Despite her sharp tongue that makes him want to take cover, he can’t deny the attraction. But when he hires her to play weekends at his family’s saloon, he finds out she’s more than he can handle…which is saying something considering he used to blow things up for a living.
When the grenade finally explodes and the shrapnel flies, will Bran be left standing? Or has he survived years at war only to be taken down by Jail Bait?

My Review
I have a confession to make. I am in love with
this series. I also have to confess that as a parent I should not love this
series as much as I do. But I cannot help it. Mia Storm writes a story that
pulls you in and continuously makes you forget your morals and beliefs. Her books
remind you that love knows no bounds. Love doesn't understand right or wrong,
young or old. Love just happens.
This is hard to say, but I think of all the books this one is my favorite. I was sucked in from the start and could not put it down. Every word, every feeling, every action, drew me in further and further.
Bran was a fantastic male lead and I loved that we
were in his head and knew what was going on in his thoughts. He was hot,
protective, but also the type of man a girl could fall in love with. Not once
did he come across as an asshole, but at the same time he had some alpha going
on. Anyways- Bran is an ex-marine that is now a bartender at his family bar, we
met him in Getting Played- he is a friend of Marcus, he's a hard worker and
doesn't take any crap. But he's seen some stuff from his tours and it still
messes with his head. He doesn't do relationships, he does hook ups. But all
that changes the moment he meets Lilah.
Lilah just moved with her sister Destiny after
her parents went to jail for being meth heads. Right now they are broke and
just barely getting by. Destiny gets a job at Sam Hill Bar and then so does
Lilah. Both seem to have their sights set on Bran. But the problem is that Bran
doesn't know how old Lilah is.
Honestly, that is where I think I need to leave
it. There is so much that goes on in this book and I think it needs to be
uncovered as you go. There is no doubt about the chemistry between Bran and
Lilah though. There was such a connection between them, that even I forgot
about the age difference and just allowed myself to fall in love along with
them. This really is a beautiful and hot book.
I have said it before and I will say it again,
this is becoming my favorite series!!
5 stars!!!!!
