Review: Spark by Erin Noelle

Blurb:
SPARK Book 1 in the Fire on the Mountain Series:

I'm failing.
My younger brother is getting worse, and my job - my duty - is to help him at all costs. We've tried everything modern medicine has to offer and nothing works.
Nothing.
Deciding to turn to unconventional treatments, we end up at Fire-on-the-Mountain, a holistic resort deep in the Rockies.
In our search for medical marijuana, I find beautiful, free-spirited Hudson Shavell - a girl who may not only hold the key to heal my brother, but to fix me as well. Even though I can't afford distractions right now, she's all I can think about. All that I want.

It's funny how everything can change with one little SPARK.

***Though Spark is the first book in the Fire on the Mountain Series, it is a stand alone novel***
***Intended for mature audiences only***

My Review
I really have no words for this book. It consumed me. It has now been several hours since I finished it and I am still thinking about Crew and Hudson. Their story was heartbreaking and beautiful.

Crew's younger brother Caleb has epilepsy and has severe seizures. Nothing is helping him, not diet and not traditional medicine. So Crew, his mom, and Caleb all move to Colorado where medical marijuana is legalized, they are grasping at straws to find a way to help Caleb live a normal life. As a parent, this was heartbreaking to read, hell as an older sister this was heartbreaking to read, My heart instantly clenched for Crew and what he was willing to do for his brother. Crew was a fantastic hero in my opinion. Yes like any man he has faults but that is what made me love his character so much more. He was real. Okay and hot as hell. (Isn't the book cover GORGEOUS?!)

Hudson comes from a big family. Mainly because her parents are pretty much hippies. But I loved their family dynamics. They were different but it fit perfectly for this story and for Hudson. Her family owns a resort and there she grows pot that they sale at there store in town. This was actually pretty cool to read about. I love how it was Hudson who grew this and crossbred different strands. Her character was amazing. She was literally a down to earth girl who just has a healing heart. She just wants to help everyone and it comes so natural to her too.

Anyways- Crew and Hudson start with a Spark. You know when you find that special someone that when you touch your skin just lights up and you feel it, you feel the spark. Well that is what happens with Crew and Hudson. Crew didn't intend to start anything with anyone when they moved, yeah he might have planned on some meaningless hookups but his goal was to help his brother get this treatment to see if it helped. Hudson was just going through life. Tending to her plants and helping her family all while going to school. But these two together was beautiful and heartbreaking all at the same time. I should have seen it coming but I was hoping it wouldn't, but when the big thing happens in this book, sometimes a spark isn't enough to keep the fire going. I won't lie. There were times I wanted to reach in my kindle and shake Crew and hug Hudson. Okay I wanted to hug Crew too..

I loved Caleb, too. He really gave this book something more and I'm glad that even though this is a love story, his story wasn't just swept away. In fact, his story is every bit as important to this love story than anything else. I actually loved all the characters in this book, well except for two of them, but other than that everyone was important to this story.

Anyways- I feel like I am rambling here. This is a great book. It had a carefree feel to it even though it made me cry. Something about the way Crew and Hudson were together just felt so organic not once did it feel like a forced relationship. It was just beautiful. I cannot wait to read more in this series!!
