Blurb:School. Tests. Scholarships. Goals.
Senior class overachiever Geoff Miller thought he had it all figured out. All he needed to do was make it through the next six months, graduate, and get on with his life.
College at the University of Virginia beckoned him-- and he just wanted to put the last horrible four years at Heritage High School in the "done" folder.
Geoff just didn't count on two things: Laine Phillips, and sex.
At first, his passing crush on the school princess seemed to Geoff like a distraction from a boring life in a snobby Greater Cincinnati suburb. Then one day, it turned into something more...
Six months. Not that long, right?
My Review
I really enjoyed being in Geoff's head! This book is told completely in Geoff's POV, and I have to say it is very much what I would of thought to go through some teenage boys' minds! Geoff hasn't had it easy socially at Heritage High. Grades and tests? No problem. Mr. Popular? Ha. Nicknamed Geoff Megadeath you can imagine how people see him. But aside from that I was actually surprised at how geeky others found him because he didn't seem that way to me. Just a smart kid who was somewhat arrogant at times. But he grows.
It really is amazing how much can change in six months. Geoff just didn't think his life would change so much. I really think the relationship with Laine caused him to shift his perspective over everything in his life. From the first interaction between the two I was able to see a difference. To see Geoff start to live. He really began to see that just because you are alive doesn't mean you are living. I really liked Laine too. I loved that she was more than she seemed. Aren't we all? I think she helps Geoff live and realize that he also has been judging people and Geoff helps her be herself and not someone she thinks she has to be.
4 Stars!!!! ★★★★
