Blog Tour/Release Blitz: Leaving Amarillo by Caisey Quinn

Blurb:
Dixie Lark hasn’t had it easy. She lost her parents in an accident when she was young and grew up in a ramshackle house on a dirt road in Amarillo with her ailing grandparents and overprotective older brother. Thanks to her grandfather, Dixie learned to play a mean fiddle, inspired by the sounds of the greats—Johnny and June, Waylon, and Hank. Her grandfather’s fiddle changed Dixie’s life forever, giving her an outlet for the turmoil of her broken heart and inspiring a daring dream.
Ten years later, Dixie and her brother Dallas are creating the music they love and chasing fame with their hot band,
LEAVING AMARILLO. But Dixie isn’t enjoying the ride. All she can think about is Gavin Garrison, the band’s tattooed, tortured drummer who she’s loved since they were kids. She knows he feels the connection between them, but he refuses see her as more than his best friend’s little sister.
Convinced that one night with Gavin will get him out of her system, Dixie devises a plan. She doesn’t know that her brother has forbidden Gavin from making a move on her—a promise he swore he’d always keep—a promise that once broken will unexpectedly change the future for Dixie, Gavin and the band. Will Dixie and Gavin risk it all for a possible love neither has ever thought possible?

My Review
There are only a few authors who can write books that intertwine music into their stories so much that you get so pulled in that you can visualize every performance and feel every emotion. Caisey Quinn is one of those authors. I loved every bit of Leaving Amarillo. I am from the Nashville area, so I have seen the live shows played in those downtown bars and let me tell you, when I was reading this it was like I was transported to one of those places watching Dixie, Gavin and Dallas playing their hearts out. Granted the story wasn't based in Nashville but I imagine all honky tonks are similar!
Dixie, Dallas and Gavin make up the band Leaving Amarillo. Dix and Dallas are brother and sister and Gavin is Dallas' best friend. Dixie has been in love with Gavin for as long as she can remember and let me tell you, I don't blame her! Gavin is hot, but there is so much more about him under the surface and Dixie can see it all.

Dixie and Gavin are off the charts hot! I love Dixie and how she finally just says what she wants and then takes it. The whole time I was in her cheering section, cheering her on! Gavin is hot and troubled. Did I say hot? Him and Dixie together are smoking. It's sexy and a tearjerker all in one.
"I want you to touch me. To take me, to own and possess me like you know                                      you already do. I want you- all of you. the good, the bad, and that secret                                          darkness inside you that you never show anyone else. I want to be the one you                                spend your nights with, the one you wake up with, and the one you can't stop                                 thinking about."
I have loved everything I have read by Caisey, but this one is one of my absolute favorites and I will be screaming from the rooftops for everyone to read this!
Caisey Quinn does not disappoint and I cannot wait for more. I love Dallas and want his story, but am DYING for the rest of Dixie and Gavin. Pick this one up, you will not regret it! This is one of those books I could read over and over again.
5 bluebird stars!

Caisey Quinn’s Inspiration for the Neon Dreams series

Not too long ago (barely over a year), I took a trip to Nashville with some friends. It was one of those last minute “oh my gosh, we have to see this super big artist doing a concert in a tiny venue because they just Tweeted that they’ll be there” type road trips. Unplanned, beef jerky, big gulps, and random road mix cd style adventure. My favorite kind.

However, by the time we arrived at the venue it was packed. Literally. Wall to wall crammed, people spilling out onto the sidewalk, full to maximum capacity packed. Apparently we weren’t the only ones who caught word that a big name artist was going to be there.

Sigh.

We decided to just check out a few local spots instead. In a bar called Crossroads we got comfy, ordered drinks, and started chatting about how bummed we were that we didn’t get to see the original artist we intended to. I can’t even remember now who it was. Here’s why.

As we’re ordering a second—okay, maybe a third—round and deciding if we’re going to just call it a night and get a hotel room or head home (Birmingham is only about three hours away), this glorious sound fills the air. No, it pierces the air, rips through it and grabs everyone in hearing range by the eardrums.

Our conversation—along with many others—ceased instantly. Chill bumps ran up my arms even though it was quite warm and I was wearing a jacket.

Most of the patrons gaped in awe as this young woman played the fiddle as if she’d been born to do that and only that. It was the solo from “Devil Went Down to Georgia” by the Charlie Daniels band and she was rocking it beyond comprehension. Pretty sure even the bartenders stopped what they were doing. The rest of the night was a little blurry, but I know we didn’t leave until that band had played their entire set.

We ended up getting a hotel room but none of us slept. All we could talk about was that band and how amazing they were and how we were kicking ourselves that we didn’t get their name so we could check them out online and hear more. I still look for them when I’m in Nashville and one day I fully expect to hear them on the radio. Whoever they are, they will forever be the band that inspired the Neon Dreams series.

This isn’t the exact band but they’re pretty close! The search continues!

Review: Hush Hush #1 by Anneliese Vandell

Hush Hush #1

Blurb:
Fifty Shades of Grey meets Revenge in this tantalizing new series about a young woman who’s willing to do anything in the name of vengeance.

Something terrible happened to April Morrison when she was eleven years old. When she returns home to New Orleans fourteen years later as “Sophia,” she has only one word on her mind: revenge. She’s got her eye on Charles and Barbara Hawthorne, the crowning jewel of New Orleans’ elite and the ones responsible for turning her life upside down.

Enter Liam Hawthorne, the couple’s successful, strikingly handsome, and irresistibly dominant thirty-two year old son. When Liam makes a provocative proposal, it occurs to April that he may be just the “in” she needs. But what she doesn’t bargain for is Liam’s insatiable—and thrilling—sexual appetite. And as Liam begins to test April’s limits, she realizes that appearances are not what they seem.

This book is intended for mature audiences.

My Review
I have to say I was pleasantly surprised by how much I loved this book!! I was iffy at first, but once things started to pick up I was pulled in!
I love the show Revenge and of course I loved 50 Shades of Grey. This book really is the perfect blend of both!

"Sophia" meets Liam and her whole plan gets turned upside down. It's hard to turn down what he is offering, but it seems to be even harder to not let her revenge get in the way. This book is steamy!! I was shocked by some of the scenes but loved them all the same. I am wondering how April is going to keep all this up and get her revenge without losing her heart! Cannot wait to start the next one!!

My Review

I just love these serials. No joke, every time I am left with a book hangover and that doesn't happen often. I read a lot of fantastic books, but I just Loved this serial.
It was hot and suspenseful. I was on the edge of my seat trying not to scream at some parts! This was the perfect conclusion and just when you think you have it all figured out, you are hit with something else. Easily a 5 star read. I cannot wait to see more of this side of Elizabeth Lee, it's a good style for her.

About the Author:

Born and raised in the middle of a Midwestern cornfield (not literally, that would be weird), I’ve spent my entire life imagining stories. Stories where the right guy always gets the right girl, first kisses are as magical as they are on the big screen and anything is completely possible if you believe.

Although this journey began years ago, it recently took on a whole new life. After years of devouring hundreds of Romance, YA and New Adult novels, I had an epiphany... I should write a book. And I did it!

If I’m not reading, writing, enjoying drinks with my amazing group of girlfriends or chasing around a sarcastically funny kid, I’m probably watching television shows that were created for teenagers, while my husband teases that I’m too old to watch them.

Release Day: Tight by Alessandra Torre

Blurb:
I was happy in my small town. In my life as a single, thirty-two year old woman. I had a good job, wonderful friends, my independence.
I also hadn't got laid in three years. Hadn't been on a date in two. Had stopped counting calories and wearing makeup... a while ago.
Then Brett Jacobs waltzed in. Caressed my thigh, dug rough fingers into my hair, lowered his soft mouth to my skin, took sexual control of my mind and stirred it all around with what he packed in his pants. He flipped my quiet life upside down and crawled into a place in my heart I thought was dead.
The issues?
His secret.
Her.
The fact that I don't even know she exists, and he thinks she's dead.
Everything is about to hit the fan and I can't hold on to him tight enough.
                                                                My Review
Wow. Just wow. Every time I read something by Alessandra Torre I am just blown away. Tight was no different. I went into this book expecting something completely different and what I got was so much more!
I feel like if I say too much I will spoil it but I thought I had it figured out. But then I was thrown for a loop!! I am still trying to process!
Anyways, Riley and Brett have a whirlwind relationship. Everything takes off and seems perfect but Brett is hiding something. Brett seemed almost too perfect but I couldn't help but fall for him a little bit. I loved Riley. I really did. Yea, some things were not well thought out but we're not perfect. She was likeable and relatable.
I loved the shift of POVs in this book and they threw me for a loop. This book is sexy and suspenseful, something Alessandra does so well!!

Spend the Night: The Hotel Collection Episode #2 by Elizabeth Lee

Blurb:
Someone’s playing a deadly game…

Two men vying for your attention—seems like every girl's dream come true. For Hannah Wellesley, the dream has become a nightmare. As she continues to navigate her feelings to determine which man she truly belongs with—the first love who’s become her current business rival or the enticing new chef who’s testing her sexual limits at every turn—a new set of problems presents itself. One that includes a breach in hotel security that has her fearing for her own safety and the reputation of the Wellesley-Crawford.

Soon she finds herself playing a dangerous game of cat and mouse that might just cost her everything she’s worked for—and maybe even her life.

EXCERPT

Yes.

I was finally going to find out if it was him. I knew it was. It had to be. Everything that had happened with Trent had been a mistake. Carter was the guy I wanted. He was going to take the memories of Trent away.

“Baby...” Carter mumbled against my lips, before removing them and pressing his forehead against mine. “We gotta slow down.”

“No,” I urged. “We really don't.” I pulled his lips back to mine. “I want this. I want you,” I pleaded, hearing the desperation in my voice. I needed to know the truth.

“So do I,” he assured me before taking a step back. He grabbed my hands and caught his breath. “Really I do, but I think we should slow down. I don't want you to do something you'd regret.”

“Never stopped me before,” I said with a playful wink. I hadn't let fear or regret stop me in the stairwell. Or in my apartment last night which would have been a good damn time for it to do so.

“Oh, really.” He chuckled.

“Really.” I stared up into his eyes waiting for him to just admit that it was him the night of the Gala, but he didn't. Instead, he pulled me to my feet and wrapped his arms around my waist. His head fell to my shoulder as he tightened his embrace. “This will happen, Hannah. Just not in my office with the entire staff of my restaurant waiting on the other side of the door. I'll teach you to be patient, sweetheart,” he whispered.
My Review
I am so in love with this serial. It is no surprise that Elizabeth Lee is one of my favorite authors and I love everything I have ever read by her.. But I think this serial may be my favorite.

I could not put this down and once again I am left wanting more!!!

In this installment things with "HIM" get a whole lot creepier. His identity is still a mystery, but now Hannah knows something is up. There are twists and turns I didn't expect and I LOVED every bit of it!

I think I have an idea about who "HIM" is and I hope I am right. I cannot wait until Episode 3 to see what else will happen between Hannah, Trent and Carter.

Blog Tour: Better When He's Bold by Jay Crownover

Blurb:

From New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Jay Crownover, comes the second book in a combustible new series, Welcome to the Point, that is sexier, darker, and better than ever.

There’s a difference between a bad boy and a boy who is bad. . . . Welcome to the Point.

In a dark and broken kingdom, a ruler has be fearless to control the streets and the ruthless people who run them. Race Hartman is just bold enough, just smart enough, and just lost enough to wear the crown. Places like The Point will always have bad things and bad people, but the man in control of all that badness can minimize the devastation. Race has a plan, but can he prevent total annihilation without destroying himself?

Brysen Carter has always seen the real Race—a guy too pretty, too smooth, and way too dangerous. Basking in his golden glow is very tempting, but Brysen knows she’ll eventually get burned. She has enough problems without the risky danger and mayhem that comes with a guy like Race. Too bad Brysen faces a threat close to home that might be more dangerous than anything The Point has ever produced.. And the only person interested in keeping her safe is the one man she can’t allow herself to have.

Sometimes being bold is the only way to stay alive. But can she let Race save her life . . . if it means losing herself to him?

My Review
I LOVED reading about Brysen and Race!
Race is a good guy trying to take care of a bad place. The Point is dangerous, but it is a part of Race. I loved getting inside his head and seeing what made him the way he was. I also loved seeing more of Dovie and Bax through his and Brysen's eyes.
Brysen was a lot tougher then I had thought she was going to be and I really liked her character! She wasn't overly stupid like some female leads. In fact, I think she handled things the way most would. I loved her relationship with Race, Dovie and her sister Karsen.
I am loving this series and cannot wait to read more. There is a whole lot of stuff starting to go down in The Point and I am curious on how Race and Bax are going to handle it all. There are a lot of unexpected things and some things I figured out ahead of time too. Titus's story is next and I have to say I am intrigued by him and want to learn more! I am also hoping that Karsen will get her own story soon!
