Synopsis:
The summer that Chase Stern entered my life, I was seventeen. The daughter of a legend, the Yankees were my family, their stadium my home, their dugout my workplace. My focus was on the game. Chase … he started out as a distraction. A distraction with sex appeal poured into every inch of his six foot frame. A distraction who played like a god and partied like a devil.
I tried to stay away. I couldn’t.
Then, the team started losing.
Women started dying.
And everything in my world broke apart.

My Review
My Review
Let me start off by saying I am not a sports fan. I cannot
watch the stuff on TV. But if I was at an actual game I could and would get
into it. Anyways, that being said, for someone who is not a fan, I sure do LOVE
sports themed movies and books. I know, it’s crazy, but that’s just how it is.
So it’s no surprise that I LOVED this book. This book was more than Chase and
Ty, this book talked about the love of the game and the life that Ty had.
Ty grew up with the ball teams. Her dad was kind of a big
deal. She is not your typical teenage girl. This girl lived and breathed
baseball. The team was her family. But as teams do, this one received a new
member. A very hot and talented new member. Chase Stern was everything that Ty
needed to stay away from, but she was pulled into him and everything she could
have with him. The angst was in full swing during this book and that was just
the first half! This book covers several different years and there is a time
jump.
The suspense in this book was done so very well and I
honestly didn’t have a clue what was going on. I always try to guess these
things and usually I am pretty good at it. But that didn’t happen this time.
The underlying suspense made this book that much more enjoyable.
I am not one to go on and on in reviews, so this one will be
no different. If you want to know what happens then read it. This is one of my
favorite reads by Alessandra Torre though!
There was right, there was wrong, and there was
love. And love trumped it all.
5 stars!!!
